2016 High School Debate Workshop

Wichita State Debate is proud to host the 19th annual summer workshop for high school debaters. We have made several changes for this summer designed to make the workshop better than ever. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Dates: August 1-5, 2016

Session 1: $35. Open to any students with prior experience. Lectures covering the china topic, affirmative and negative strategy, debate theory, and plenty of time to get all of your questions answered. Meets from 9:00 - 12:00, Monday through Friday.

Session 2: $100. Application required. Limited availability. Work in groups of 4. Ideal for you and your partner, but that isn't required. You must bring your own evidence. Small group work on the aff and neg to improve blocks with a practice debate each day. Meets from 1:00 - 5:00, Monday through Friday. The session now includes a tournament on Saturday, August 6. Use the comments section of the application to detail your win/loss record at each tournament last year. We will accept debaters, in groups of four, with the same skill level. Space is limited.

Deadline: July 29. Late registrations accepted on a space-available basis.
